KUCHING: A seminar on the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be conducted at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus here this Tuesday.
Themed “Understanding the Goods and Services Tax and Its Implementation in Malaysia”, it will be held from 9am to 12:30pm at the lecture theatre.
Second assistant director of the state Royal Malaysian Customs, Noelle Lily Morse, is the guest speaker.
“The seminar is being held in view of the implementation of the GST in April next year.
“We hope to create awareness of the basic concept of GST, how it is implemented and how it will affect the population. We also aim to provide a platform for the public to acquire knowledge and gain better understanding on GST through interaction and exchange of ideas with the experts,” a press statement from Swinburne Sarawak said.
The seminar will be conducted in English and is open to members of the public, especially youths and university students.
A Q&A session will follow towards the end of the seminar.

The seminar is organised by the Kenyalang Youth Club in colla-boration with Swinburne Sarawak.
