KUALA LUMPUR: PAS has called upon the Government to disclose a deal granted to MyEG Services Bhd for them to undertake the Customs online tax reporting or electronic monitoring system (EMS).
The EMS would be for the eventual rollout goods and services tax (GST) effective April next year.
Speaking to reporters at Parliament lobby on Tuesday, Pokok Sena PAS MP Datuk Mahfuz Omar said that there was a possibility that the taxes collected could go to the third party instead of the rightful Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
“They should make the deal public, how much commission they are getting?

“Why did they have to appoint MyEG to collect taxes in the first place?” he asked.
He said the collected taxes should be directed straight to IRB.
It was reported last February that MyEG, in an announcement to Bursa Malaysia, said the estimated value of the project was RM180mil.
The tenure for the project was six years and has commenced on April 1.
