KUALA LUMPUR: The government's fiscal policy committee will meet next week and discuss measures to strengthen the country's current economic position.
According to a statement issued by Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah on Wednesday, the meeting would table for approval various initiatives and options to ensure the economic and fiscal position is strong and sustainable.
The key areas that would be discussed are better expenditure management which includes subsidy rationalisation) and also revenue enhancement (via Goods and Service Tax implementation and Real Property Gains Taxes review).
The panel would also look into improving the governance and work processes.
