KUALA LUMPUR -- The second
reading of the Goods and Services Tax Bill 2009, scheduled for today, has been
deferred to another date.
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr
Awang Adek Hussin made the application to withdraw the bill from the agenda at
the start of the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.
He said a new date would be
decided later.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister in the
Prime Minister's Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong had also applied to defer the
second and third readings of the Legal Profession (Amendment) Bill 2012 to the
next sitting. -- Bernama
