PM: More goods and services could be exempted from GST

PUTRAJAYA: The list of goods and services that will be taxed under the GST is still being finalised, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He also said there could be more goods and services that would not be listed under the Goods and Service Tax (GST).

"We are working to see if there could be more items that can be declared zero rated.

"The GST is not to burden the people," he said at the Prime Minister's Department monthly assembly here Monday.

Najib said the road show on the GST would also continue to provide the public with information on the system.

The 6% GST is expected to be implemented next year.
