Anwar to organise protests if GST implemented

BUTTERWORTH: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will organize nationwide protests if the goods and services tax (GST) is imposed in the upcoming Budget.

Anwar said that Pakatan Rakyat strongly opposes the tax imposition in Parliament because it will heavily burden the rakyat.

''The government has already increased the price of petrol. This GST will take a toll on the rakyat,'' he said during a press conference after a walkabout at the Seberang Jaya market Sunday.
